Meet the Staff: Stacey Cannicott – Byron Shire Coordinator

What qualities do you bring to your work at REDinc.?
I feel that I am non-judgemental, caring, understanding and respectful.  I take an awful lot of pride in my work and it means a great deal to me that the young people in this area are getting what they need and want from REDinc.

What is one highlight of your time with REDinc.?
It has been an honour and privilege to see the journey of Participants evolve with REDinc. Byron. We have gone from being a relatively small and quiet spot on the Byron Industrial Estate to a thriving community of energy and activity in Mullumbimby in the last 12 months.  Our new arts program has been received with great enthusiasm by participants who, in just 14 weeks, produced beautiful work for our recent Art Expo.  It was so exciting for the artists to see their work being snapped up by the public.

What is special about REDinc.?
REDinc. is really like being part of a large family.  The staff all look out for each other and care for the Participants we walk alongside.

What is the most important thing about Support work?
The most important thing for support work is the ability to make an authentic connection with the people around you.
