Supported Independent Living (SIL)

How We Can Help?

At REDinc, we offer Supported Independent Living (SIL)  for NDIS participants aged 18 and over.

SIL is a shared living arrangement designed to support you in living as independently as possible, while helping you build confidence and everyday life skills in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Our dedicated team provides support with daily tasks and works alongside you to meet your individual needs and NDIS goals. Support includes, but is not limited to:

  • Personal care
  • Community access – including social outings, hobbies, appointments, and building social connections
  • Medication support
  • Household tasks – such as cleaning and laundry
  • Meal preparation and nutrition
  • Skill development and capacity building

We’re here to help you live your life, your way — with the right supports in place.

Frequently asked questions

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is funded through the NDIS Core Supports budget, under the category:
“Assistance with Daily Life”.

SIL funding is designed to cover the cost of support workers who assist you with daily tasks in a shared living arrangement.

While Supported Independent Living (SIL) helps with daily support needs, it’s important to know what the NDIS does not cover under SIL funding.

The NDIS generally does not fund:

  • Rent or board
  • Daily living expenses such as food, utilities, or transport
  • Costs for social or recreational activities
  • General household items like beds, fridges, or kitchen utensils

In some limited cases, the NDIS may contribute to these expenses, but only under specific circumstances outlined in your plan.

If you’re unsure about what can or can’t be included in your SIL funding, our team can help you understand your plan and available options.
